After meeting the unknown narrator and hearing that they intend to fix this broken world and how the fixed world will be worth all this suffering, Sensei wakes up inside a storage room.
As he slowly wakes up, he looks up to see Ayane, Makoto and Yumi sleeping on the mattresses in front of him. He knows he survived another reset, but struggles to recall much about it, with the most prominent memory being his encounter with Kaori, and while he feels like he needs to talk with her about it, he decides to let it go for everyone's sake. Instead, he focuses on Yumi having survived as well, and while this would mean they need to teach her everything they know, he feels like they can take it easy for a while. He then decides to wake up Ayane, who's still confused after living through another reset, and takes her outside to get some fresh air.
Once Ayane is fully awake again, she talks to Sensei about the reset, though most of it is a blur for her as well, so they move on to Yumi. Seeing that all four of them made it, Ayane feels like she can discard one of her theories about the reset, but Sensei adds that pretty much everything they assumed can be discarded, since this reset disproved most of what they assumed to know, including the importance of the rooftop for the reset. Ayane thinks they might've been there and just don't remember it, but Sensei reveals he was there and how he saw no one else there. Getting suspicious, Ayane wants to know what he did there, but when he refuses to tell her, she accuses him of breaking the new Maya. Moving on form this, both agree to spend the day together, but intend to wait for Yumi and Makoto to wake up first.
Back in the storage room, Makoto is already awake, whereas Yumi, who has hugged Makoto while she was sleeping, is slowly waking up. Makoto greets her and, after Yumi calmed down from the sudden scare of waking up next to her, congratulates her on making it through a reset and joining their squad. Yumi wishes she didn't and would like to return to her old self, but Makoto is glad she made it through since Yumi gives them some new leads to follow as well as a competent new member to face the apocalypse. Yumi struggles a bit with the aspect of someone genuinely liking her, and Makoto assumes her life will change a lot and they should make sure it's for the better.
Both girls join Sensei and Ayane outside, with Ayane confirming everyone's memory is hazy. While Makoto teases Yumi for having hugged her so intensely, Sensei appreciates the small changes to their life, though Ayane feels like something is missing, a feeling she also had during the end of their last beach trip. Sensei points out that they have no leads to verify this, so Ayane suggests they should start to write everything down, feeling like this is something Maya would do, but seeing how most of their knowledge is unreliable now, Sensei decides they should take some time off, which everyone agrees with.
Due to a comment from Makoto, Ayane thinks they should try getting Nodoka involved, but due to what happened in his timeline, he shoots the idea down and instead wants to know where she got the green scarf she's currently wearing, but she can't remember how exactly she got it and thinks it was a gift from a friend. From here, everyone goes on to enjoy their day.
At night, Sensei returns home with the feeling that everything is normal for once, but a voice in his head, which is no longer them as they are truly gone now, tells him it isn't. The next morning, Ami leaves the house and asks him to not let Maya borrow her clothes should she come by.
