Synopsis

Sitting on the shore, Chika is still affected by her meeting with Sensei, and a narrator further explains her turmoil, how both sides are feeling about this, and how Chika fears that someone else came between them, making her contemplate on how she can win him back. She's so lost in thoughts that she doesn't notice Touka until she's right behind her, who wants to know what's bothering her. Chika doesn't mind telling her, and while she warns her that it's a bigger issue, Touka doesn't mind, especially since she needs her help after this.

After Touka takes a seat next to her, Chika confesses she has problems with a boy, though Touka already knows it's Sensei but lets Chika believe she only uses him for convenience. Chika doesn't know how to handle being ignored by him and wonders if someone as popular as Touka has any advice, but she reveals she wasn't popular with boys since she had next to no contact with them. This makes Chika wish Touka was her mother, which pains her due to recent events, but she meant this literally, wishing she could talk with hers right now. While Tsubasa would be an option too, she doesn't want to bother her with this, so Touka offers to be a substitute for her mother, but also thinks that Chika doesn't want her advice.

Confused, Chika asks if Touka thinks there's nothing she can do to fix her relationship, but Touka states that Chika is looking for the wrong solution – She focuses too much on what she can do when she should think about what she should do. To clarify her point, Touka asks Chika if she feels like the treatment she gets from Sensei is deserved, which she doesn't, and if she really wants to stay with him when he treats her like that, which she does. Hearing this, Touka calls her decision to stay with someone who doesn't know what he wants stupid and recommends her to move on from him, though Chika claims that being smart isn't a factor in this. Touka negates this and states that while she's still at a point in her life where she makes impulsive decisions, she shouldn't let the consequences of these decisions haunt her, using the old metaphor of the albatross that Chika never heard of.

Moving on from this, Touka points out that Chika is usually a proactive girl and wonders why she's sitting around and sulking instead of chasing him down, and while Chika really wants to, she also doesn't due to what she might find if she does. She fears that Sensei is close to another girl, something she assumed for a while, and seeing the truth would break her. She tries to convince herself that she's just delusional and that he does love her, and while Touka is sure he does, she tells her that love is a complex topic and how it has a different meaning for everyone. After some more talking, they both come to the realization that they can't do anything to alleviate Chika's fears and worries, so Touka once again encourages her to face them by talking directly to Sensei.

Chika intends to do this, but she wants to take care of Touka's issues first. However, she acts like she never asked for any help, but when Chika presses her, she wants to know how to have a relationship with a man. Chika wonders if she has someone she would need that knowledge for, and while Touka struggles to give a clear answer to this, she doesn't mind teaching her everything she knows, unaware that she's helping a rival and, consequently, adding future problems to her own relationship.
