CHAIN-LINK EVENT
WARNING: this Event is part of an Event Chain! You've lost all control over your own actions and must now sit back while
someone else takes the wheel. Enjoy the ride while it lasts, and hope that you did things right before taking the plunge!
Back at Sensei's house, an irritated Niki takes care of Ami and tries to figure out where he is and why he's abandoning his niece. She calms down when she accidentally worries Ami and both bond about their surrogate sister relationship, how it's easier to express oneself when wearing a mask and how it's hard to trust anyone when you have something or someone everyone else wants as well. Meanwhile in Sensei's apartment, Maya still tries to convince Sensei to give her the attention she wants from him, and while he tries to resist her, he finally caves in.
Back with Nodoka, she reveals that the second contest is a test of endurance – Two contestants are put in an uncomfortable position while a machine will add pressure, and whoever lasts longer in this position is the winner. The first contestant drawn is Kirin, who hopes she can compete against Makoto, but after a fake out from Nodoka, Rin is named as the second contestant.
Both contestants take their position on stage, with Kirin deciding to give herself a handicap for fun. The end result will depend on Kirin:
If her stats are high enough, she can easily endure the position she's in and speeds up her victory by using psychological tactics to wear down Rin's willpower. Unfortunately, Nodoka refuses to give her an easy exit out of her position after she won, and Noriko has to step in and help her friend, which ends up breaking the machine she was using.
If her stats are too low, she can't endure her position and ends up doing slightly worse than Rin due to her self-inflicted handicap. She tries to hold on for as long as possible, even though Noriko encourages her to just take the loss, but she loses shortly after, though Rin only lasts a few seconds longer before collapsing.
While the girls prepare the stage for the last contest, Molly and Sana agree that Sensei would've liked this event and how he's probably bored right now.
