While waiting for Imani to find the courage to show herself in her swimsuit, Sensei thinks about what she told him and how it won't change anything, though something else will regardless of this. She finally decides to step in front of him, and he compliments her on her courage.
He also figures out that others have already seen her scars, and she admits that some have, namely their friend circle, Yumi, who walked in on her while changing, Ayane, who saw her in the school locker room but didn't say anything, with Sensei assuming she did so out of consideration, and Futaba, who she showed her willingly when they shared the public bath. Hearing about the latter, he asks her to support her with her body issues since he has made no progress in that regard. He feels bad having to put that burden on her shoulders, but she tells him to stop loathing himself for this as supporting him is what she wants to do.
After sharing a sentimental moment, Sensei makes a move on her, which catches her off-guard, and Wakana, who was listening in with Osako from outside the room, charges in and takes action, glad that Sensei finally decided to be himself at the right moment. While Wakana is busy with an overwhelmed Imani, Sensei internally explains why he decided to make a move on Imani despite initially rejecting her – He intended to keep her as his friend, but keeping those around him at bay is basically impossible, making any attempt to try it pointless, and since some of his deepest bonds are with those he is very close with, he feels like getting closer with Imani in that way is more beneficial.
While waiting, he asks Osako how their conversation went, with her giving it a thumb in the middle. She wonders why he cares about something he isn't involved in, and he reminds her how she did it herself and tells her that their fighting has a negative impact on him, like most bad things recently have. Before they can go on, Wakana is done preparing Imani, and Sensei promises that him changing his mind has nothing to with her backstory but on him finally wanting to push things further. With this, he makes her feel comfortable, which also helps mend things between Osako and Wakana a little.
The morning after, everyone realizes that they left Rika out of this and wonder how they will break the news to her, until Sensei reminds them that they don't have to tell her anything in the first place. As a result, they make a vow of silence.
