Karin Affection
This Event takes place in the following locations:
A week after what happened at the karaoke booth, Sensei hasn't heard anything from Karin. While he can understand that she didn't want to talk with him, no one else approached him in her stead either, with him wondering if she told anyone about this, and if not, why. He doesn't even have an excuse this time as he had some level of control, though assumes it's the reason why it didn't end like the last time this happened. Regardless, Sensei knows he needs to apologize and tries to reach her, but she doesn't pick up when he calls her. Since he knows where she'll most likely be right now, he decides to go to her, but someone is ringing at his door before he can leave.
After opening the door, he sees Karin standing in front of him. She explains that she wanted to learn from him why he did what he did, especially since he was nothing but nice to her up until that day. He offers to let her come inside, but she vehemently refuses to be alone with him in a confined room, and he can't blame her, feeling that this will be a barrier between them for a while. She's still confused considering that everything feels like he was leading her on, yet he let her go and seemed regretful after pinning her down, so she at least wants to know which parts of him where true and which were false. Sensei request to discuss this somewhere down the street so Ami won't hear them, and Karin agrees to this.
Taking a seat on a nearby bench, he starts by assuring her that, despite his actions the week before, he never intended to harm her, seeing her as one of the few kind and pure souls he had the honor to meet. He then confesses that he's been miserable since he lost someone around Halloween, that he has something deep inside him that's tempting him to do bad things, and how he ends up doing those things when he's "blacking out" and has to live with the aftermath once he "wakes up". He's fully aware that Karin won't believe that last part and doesn't expect her to, and while he knows that grief can impact a person significantly, he never expected it to happen and is still surprised by certain things.
Karin understand this, though fails to see how this relates to him holding her down. He tells her that there is no way to explain it in a satisfying way and, instead, he wants to confirm which parts of him were "real" and which were "fake" to give her some kind of closure. He answers her questions as honest as he can, which ends with him admitting that he doesn't like her as much as he made her believe. Hearing his answers, she comes to the conclusion that he was just toying with her for his own amusement. She promises to not tell anyone about it due to him being honest with her, but also asks him to stay away from her and Kirin for the foreseeable future and to find a way to deal with his loss properly.
Karin leaves after this, but Sensei doesn't see it due to him hanging his head throughout the entire conversation. He makes his way back home, taking note of the fact that her chapter isn't finished yet, but also how it was wrong of him to think he could jump to the epilogue.
