Synopsis
Having assembled the other members of the Rooftop Apocalypse Squad at the Miyamura family store, Maya and Ayane both express various levels of confusion. After confirming Maya's misunderstanding, he bluntly tells the two of Makoto's knowledge of the resets. While Ayane tries to further disproves Maya's initial theory on how people become "aware", Maya fills in Makoto on all the details, noting the complete lack of similarities between this case and Yumi and Tsuneyo's case. She also presents her theory for why more people have become aware. She cites Sensei as an anchor for everyone's memory and that the continued "consciousness" of this specific iteration is causing more people to snap out of their ignorance.
These explanations only further Makoto's distress, not helped by Ayane's various chime-ins. She initially believes this to all be one elaborate prank by the three, a theory that the group easily disproves by citing Sensei's laziness. Maya tells her she's free to test the phenomena on people other than Miku if she wants further confirmation. As the group continues to discuss theories, Ayane becomes frustrated with Maya's habitual disinterest in Makoto's feelings. This does little to sway Maya, who continues to regard Makoto as an "anomaly" in the same way Ayane was. It's during this exchange that Ayane confesses she's aware of Makoto's relationship with Sensei, citing his wallpaper as proof.
At a loss for what to do, Makoto asks the three for advice on how to spend her time if all her efforts are truly pointless. Ayane tells her to take life easy, seeing as there's no actual time limit on anything, while Maya hands over her phone number in case she has more questions – Both girls also tell her to go to the rooftop in case things "suddenly get scary". Afterward, the two leave and Sensei thinks to himself of ways to help guarantee Makoto doesn't get reset with the rest.
He asks her how she feels about this new perspective on life. As the shock has not worn off, all Makoto feels is a headache and exhaustion, though has come to accept the reality of the situation. She finds a silver lining in the fact that this revelation at least gives her a more important place in Sensei's life, somewhat relieved she doesn't have to forcibly make one herself. Confused by what she means, she reveals that the last "test" she handed to him days before was a marriage certificate. Now having some leverage over him, she spends the next portion of their time together teasing him, all while he desperately tries to pry the information of the certificate out of her.
The two spend some time together as Makoto indulges in the benefits of being stuck with an infinitely loop school year.
