Sensei decides to talk with Rin, Otoha and Nodoka. He immediately comments on Nodoka’s calm demeanor despite drinking for a while and mocks Otoha and Rin for not drinking, but they state that they didn’t like the taste when they tried it at the after party. Rin confesses that they kissed, much to Otoha’s dismay, and gives a detailed description of the event to Sensei and Nodoka. When Nodoka tries to get more information from her, Otoha changes the subject to Imani and wonders if her presence means that their school time gets back to normal. Sensei assures her that Imani won’t change anything and that they don’t have to worry about this for the rest of their lives. Nodoka notices his phrasing and wonders if he’s hiding something, but he has no intention to share anything.
At this moment, Otoha gets a text from her parents. She denies Rin’s request to greet them from her and especially Sense’s request after quoting an adult movie when they called during his visit. Nodoka regrets that she couldn’t join him and offers him to do it right now, but Otoha doesn’t want them to since her ears would get damaged by their raunchy acts. On that note, Rin compliments her musical talents and both of them start flirting in front of Sensei and Nodoka.
Before Sensei can comment on that, he hears someone making ringing noises behind him. He turns around and, as the world seems to freeze in time, Yasu gives him a cryptic note, making him wonder if she finally snapped. After making more ringing noises, Yasu disappears as sudden as she appeared and, as time begins to move again, Otoha gets a phone call from her parents. Rin suggest to just ignore it, but Otoha can’t do that, because her parents pay for her vocal lessons and phone bills and have no issue cutting her of. While she leaves them to talk with her parents, Yasu temporarily loses her ability to hear the voices.
The call gets very heated and Otoha is forced to leave the party. Rin offers to accompany her home so she can introduce herself as her girlfriend, but Otoha declines since she doesn’t see a reason for her to meet them yet. During the conversation, Rin figures out that Otoha hasn’t told her parents about them and, when she asks why, learns that she can’t admit that she’s dating a girl since her life would be over the moment her parents find out about it. Rin, on the verge of tears, begs her to leave and, after Otoha is gone, gets consoled by Futaba. Sensei, being fully aware of how little freedom Otoha has, understands why she made the decision to keep Rin a secret and, even though her decision hurt Rin a lot, forgives her for her actions, but is aware that not everyone will.
