This Event takes place in the following locations:
As Rin, Sensei, and Otoha step into Koi Cafe, they find out a group of tourists have suddenly swamped the business, leaving the only employee on staff, Molly, to try and get through the crowd. Rin steps away to help, leaving Otoha and Sensei to find a seat and speak to each other alone.
Sitting down, the two take the moment to catch up, though Sensei does point out there isn't much to say, on account of skipping over two months as well Otoha generally being rude and dismissive to him lately. She realizes this and apologizes, explaining that she's had trouble sorting her feelings out for months, and her growing jealousy of Sensei has only made things worse.
He's surprised to hear this, feeling she has nothing to be jealous of when her life is already so good. She explains it's because of his unique chemistry with Rin, and that it's a feeling she has with basically anyone who's close to her. She understands it's entirely irrational, and that no one poses any real threat to her and Rin's relationship, but struggles to truly believe that. As such, tons of people in class hate her at the moment, and Sensei would too if he wasn't "trying to catch her on the rebound".
Hearing this, Sensei tells her the real reason he likes her - Her brutal honesty and ability to see through him. He appreciates it so much, in fact, he doesn't think he'd hate her if she went around and told the class about Chika. Otoha is caught off-guard by his blunt confession but reassures her that Rin already told him that she knows. He offers to talk about it, firmly admitting that he has no intention to fix things.
Otoha finds his logic impossible to understand, especially when he now has the chance to stay with Niki. She deduces that, despite his pessimistic opinion, it's still possible to "save him" but that he simply doesn't want to be saved. She begs him, though, to at least try, for not only his own sake but for the sake of the rest of the class - Many of whom are relying on him. Such as herself.
Slowly, she tries to summon up the courage to tell him what she was doing during Christmas, but Rin suddenly checking in on the two of them halts the momentum. Afterward, Sensei's unable to pry the information out of her and heads back home.
