| synopsis = At school, [[Makoto]] is trying to explain a mathematical point to [[Ami]], who isn't getting it. The two start to argue, both about the importance of mathematics and about which of them [[Sensei]] likes better. Sensei gets reluctantly dragged into it. They eventually agree to take a break, but their mutual resentment of each other's interest in Sensei makes it hard for them to get along.
After he makes his choice, the two quickly return to arguing, before Makoto decides it's probably better if everyone takes a break to cool off. The two try to take about their interests, but when Makoto answers that Sensei is one of hers, the conversation quickly died, and shortly after, everyone departs, and Sensei leaves to go about his evening.
