After repeatedly knocking on her door and receiving no answer, Sara decides to let herself in using a skeleton key she has on her person. They eventually rouse Yuki, despite her protests, and after Yuki finds out she missed her shift at work, she promises that it won't happen again. After some provocation from Sara, Yuki admits she forgot because she had been drinking that night, though she doesn't see it as a big deal. Sensei and Sara voice their concerns for her well-being, with Sara checking her body for signs of substance abuse, and while she can't find anything, it still doesn't convince her she didn't take anything. She then demands she gets her act together since she expects better from her, but Yuki reminds her that she's a deadbeat who has no future goals or important things in her life, and she can always leech off of her ex when things go south, which worries Sara even more.
Sara wants to know what happened to her and if she can help her, but Yuki claims this is just how she is and tells Sara she should've expected something like this when she hired a former addict. Sensei chastises her lack of appreciation for Sara's care, and Sara, once again, insists on being there for her and wants her to keep her current life, but Yuki doesn't feel like she deserves a normal life with her past – She was always cautious of someone or something evil following her, which is why she can't get comfortable with the calm life she has now, and she feels a bit of survivor's guilt after seeing girls with better lives die to drug abuse while someone as rotten as her is allowed to live. She ends up joking about it, but Sara gives her a final warning to get her act together and that she will be fired if she misses another shift, which Yuki accepts before Sara leaves the apartment to cool down.
Sensei, still present, reflects on the situation and his anger at Yuki, despite the similarities he sees in himself. He then chastises Yuki for the way she treated Sara's kindness and how this is the one bridge she really shouldn't burn.
