Synopsis

Sensei arrives in the cafe to find Rin is back to work after a long stretch of not appearing, either in class or work. She notices him, but to his surprise, she turns around instead of greeting him, pretending to clean something. She tries to placate his obvious worries, but her efforts find no purchase. Sensei asks her to turn around, and after a moment of prodding and a quick reassurance, she does so, and Sensei is surprised to find she looks like she's missed sleep for several weeks.

Rin asks him how bad her appearance is, and after he deflects with a euphemism, he inquires as to the wisdom of her decision to work today. She tries to tell him to forget seeing her in her current appearance, but he quickly tells her that's not possible. She tries to stave off his increasing concern for her well-being, but is interrupted when Haruka, who had been listening to the conversation from the backroom, runs over, telling her to go home and that Molly is going to cover her shift.

Rin, starting to become emotional, begs Haruka to let her work through her shift and tells her things are fine, but Haruka is having none of it, and tells her she's clearing Rin from the schedule until she's able to work again. Rin tears up and bids both of them a quick goodbye before gathering her things and leaving.
